To collect the preliminary measurements will facilitate your first appointment with your kitchen designer. Know that a measurement technician will go to your house to take the final measurements before the start of the production of your project.

How to take your room measurements
1. Distance Between the Walls
Measure the distance between your walls, from one extremity to the other. If you have a new construction, don’t forget to add the thickness of the gypsum if it is not yet installed. Validate your measurements by adding the measurements of each of the walls and comparing them with the total measurement.
2. Openings, Doors and Windows
Starting in the corner of the closest wall, measure the distance to the frame of your windows and/or doors. Afterwards, measure the width and the height including the frames as well as the distance from the floor. If you are planning on changing your frames for wider or narrower ones, it is important to include them in your measurements.
3. Electricity and Plumbing
If you wish to keep your appliances and your sink at the same place or if you cannot move them, measure the distance starting from the closest wall to the centre of the pipe and/or plug. Do the same for the power sockets, switches and/or phone jacks. Then note the composition of each wall (gypsum, wood, plaster, ceramic, etc.).
4. Ceiling height
Measure the height from the floor. This measurement is important, especially if you wish to close your new cabinets all the way to the ceiling.
