Job description
The Estimator - Distribution Sector participates in the receipt of calls for tenders to assess needs and prepare bids for major fit-out projects. He or she reports to the Team Leader - Distribution Sector and works closely with the other members of this sector to guarantee an exceptional customer experience while ensuring impeccable results.
Profile required
Meticulous, methodical, precise, rigorous, passionate about landscaping, analytical, customer service and results-oriented, organised, proactive, quality-conscious, a team player, autonomous and diligent.
Main tasks
- Analyse project needs in collaboration with stakeholders to understand specific customer requirements, budget constraints and deadlines;
- Gather the information needed to prepare bids or go live;
- Make detailed cost estimates, taking into account resource requirements and overheads;
- Prepare accurate and competitive bids by writing detailed proposals that clearly describe the services offered, technical specifications, delivery times and commercial terms;
- Evaluate costs, materials required and prepare quotations;
- Work closely with all stakeholders to resolve any post-sales issues encountered by customers and follow up on services provided;
- Analyse plans, identify errors and technical issues, in order to contribute to the production launch process;
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement by proposing innovative solutions;
- Helping to support the company's business plan in achieving its objectives;
- Helping to maintain a respectful, positive working environment based on the company's values, by encouraging collaboration and support between colleagues;
- Carry out any other tasks directly related to the job.
Prerequisites
- Secondary school diploma (SSD) ;
- Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in design or building engineering or a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in drafting (an asset);
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a similar position;
- Mastery of commonly used computer systems (Office suite);
- Proficiency in 3D software tools (Cabinet Vision);
- Good communication and customer service skills;
- Good knowledge of reading and analysing architectural plans and specifications;
- Good knowledge of construction and cabinets;
- Good knowledge of cabinet materials and standards;
- Good knowledge of interior design and design trends;
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage several tasks at the same time;
- Ability to distinguish colours;
- Good French and English language skills.
