Under the immediate supervision of the team leader, the cabinetmaker responds to requests for changes, additions or modifications.
Required profile
Methodical, self-starter who enjoys working with tools and machinery. Ability to work under pressure while promoting teamwork. Open to change. Ability to distinguish colors.
Main tasks
- Study plans, specifications or drawings of items to be manufactured or prepare specifications;
- Collaborate with various departments and follow up on production services with designated individuals;
- Make request to team leaders when a part is to be manufactured;
- Draw outlines of parts or mark dimensions on wood;
- Operate woodworking machines and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts or components;
- Assemble parts and partial assemblies to form furniture using glue and clamps, and reinforce joints with nails, screws, or other fasteners;
- Sand wood or melamine surfaces;
- Repairing wood furniture or fixtures and related items;
- Any other duties directly related to the job.
Prerequisites
- Minimum DES or equivalent (asset);
- Knowledge in the field of cabinetry or furniture;
- Knowledge of factory work;
- Job requires lifting and handling weights up to 50 pounds;
- Be versatile, punctual and diligent.
